Apple Picking

Unfortunately, the choices for apple picking in our area are slim to none.  So our options are to either drive to Louisville or Columbus.  Both are exactly a 2-hour drive from our house so it just kinda depends on what we want out of our trip to help us choose.  Last year we went to Louisville, so this year we thought we'd go to Columbus and visit friends while we were there.  We picked an absolutely gorgeous day for it.... temps in upper 60s and sunny.

Before we began to load our bag full of apples, we had to sample first of course!

After we were loaded up with 20 pounds of apples (I plan to make applesauce and other things), we found a quiet part on the farm and had a picnic lunch.  As much as I love apple picking, this was one of my favorite parts of the day.  It was just perfect.

Then it was time to have fun in the kiddie area.  Madeline rode the barrel train and climbed the big bouncy slide.  Fia wasn't really into those activities, so we just walked around.

Lastly, we always have to see "How Tall This Fall?"

Before we headed back home, we stopped to see our good friends.  Laila is Madeline's best friend from her old daycare and they certainly hadn't forgotten each other even though it had been over a year since they had seen each other.  They started playing immediately and it was hard to get Madeline to leave.  I loved getting to see my friend too.  It had been too long.
